VILLAGE SPOTLIGHT Trustees Focus on Pool Complex at Work SessionThe Village Board of Trustees held a work session on Tuesday, December 16, to review resident feedback and discuss next steps for the Pool Complex Project. After careful consideration of community input, the Board affirmed a clear and unified commitment to advancing the indoor and outdoor year-round pool complex option, currently estimated at $70.4 million. While final design and implementation details will continue to be refined based on community input, the Board’s direction reflects consensus to proceed with this option as the preferred path forward Materials reviewed during the work session, including a memo that compiled the results of the community feedback, a letter from the Pool Redevelopment Advisory Committee, and the work session video, are available for review. As the project moves ahead, the goal is to limit pool closure to the 2027 season only, with the new outdoor complex opening for the summer of 2028 while construction of the indoor facility continues. The full schematic design presentation from October 29, 2025, can be found here. Comments and feedback can still be sent to poolcomments@scarsdale.gov.

VILLAGE SPOTLIGHT New Tree Service Licensing Law Takes Effect January 1Beginning January 1, 2026, all companies performing tree cutting, pruning, or removal in Scarsdale must obtain a Commercial Tree Service License from the Department of Public Works. The license applies to all tree work performed anywhere within the Village, whether the contractor is hired directly by a homeowner or working as a subcontractor. Please note that this local law pertains to commercial work, and homeowners may still prune their own trees. Click here for more information. Residents should also be aware that most private tree removals require a Tree Removal Permit from the Engineering Department. A permit is required for the removal of any tree over 6 inches Diameter at Breast Height (DBH). For more information about contractor licensing, please contact DPW at 914-722-1150. For information regarding tree removal permits, please contact the Engineering Department at 914-722- 1106 or visit the Village website for full guidance and forms.
