Public Hearing on Draft of Proposed Local Land Use Laws

At the May 14 Village Board Work Session, land use consultants from BFJ Planning presented potential changes to the village code. A public hearing on the proposed draft changes will be held on Tuesday, May 28, during the Board’s 8 p.m. business meeting in person at Village Hall and via Zoom. Village staff noted the Village will take public feedback into consideration to strengthen the draft proposal. You can find a link to the May 14 presentation and discussion here.

Joint Field Study Presentation to be Held May 23

We want your input! Join us on Thursday, May 23, at 7 p.m. at Scarsdale High School, Room 170, for an update on the joint field study between the Village of Scarsdale and the Scarsdale School District. CHA Consulting will share their findings following site visits and interviews with field user groups. Fourth Annual Scarsdale Music Festival Returns June 1

Tickets are now on sale for the Scarsdale Business Alliance’s fourth annual Scarsdale Music Festival (SMF), a family-friendly community event on Saturday, June 1, rain or shine, in Scarsdale Village from noon to 6 p.m. The festive day, full of live music, food, drinks and fun activities for people of all ages will benefit Daniel’s Music Foundation. The SBA is also delighted about its continued partnership with the Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) to make SMF a zero-waste event.

Tax Assessment Grievance Day: Tuesday, June 18

The Board of Assessment Review will convene on Tuesday, June 18, from 10 a.m.- noon and 6 p.m.-8 p.m., by appointment only, in Rutherford Hall at Scarsdale Village Hall, to hear and examine all grievances in relation to tax assessments. Annual Pool Opening Set for Memorial Day Weekend

Warm weather is arriving and the Scarsdale Municipal Pool is getting set for opening day on Saturday, May 25, at 9 a.m. The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation offers a variety of programs and activities such as private swim lessons, After Camp at the pool, Fireworks Spectacular & 4th of July Carnival Day, pool parties and so much more throughout the season. Click here for more information. Call the Recreation office at 914-722-1160 to purchase your pool membership for the 2024 season. You can also come to the Rec office at 244 Heathcote Road (Supply Field) to get pictures taken for membership cards Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. It is important that all pool members, adults and children, bring their membership card to enter the pool complex. Without your membership card, you will not be granted access to the pool complex. New cards will cost $10 each.

Memorial Day Parade May 27

On Monday, May 27, the Village of Scarsdale will host the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony in the Village Center. The ceremony will commence at 10:00 a.m. in Chase Park, followed by the parade, scheduled to begin around 10:30 a.m. The parade route will proceed up Popham Road, turn onto Church Lane, and then return to Chase Park via Crane Road. Please join us for this important occasion, as we recognize the heroic sacrifices made by over one million men and women who died serving our country.

Spring Field Hockey Clinic for Grades 3-8

The four-session Spring Field Hockey Clinic for girls in grades 3-8 is designed to focus on learning fundamentals in dribbling, passing and agility skills in a fun atmosphere with SMS Coach Mark Gryzlo. The clinic will run Monday to Thursday June 10-13 (rain date Friday, June 14) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Scarsdale Middle School field. The fee is $175. The deadline to register is June 3. Players will need field hockey sticks, shin guards, sneakers, goggles, mouth guards and water. Click here to register.
