Alex Marshall is New Village Manager

On Tuesday, the Village Board unanimously selected Alex Marshall as Scarsdale’s new Village Manager. Marshall, who has been ably serving the community as the Acting Village Manager for the better part of a year, came to Scarsdale as Deputy Village Manager three years ago after a nearly six-year stint on the staff of the Village of Rye Brook. Marshall holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University and a Masters in Public Administration from the College of New Rochelle. She served as president of the Municipal Administrators Association of Metropolitan New York from 2020 to 2022 and is currently an executive board member of the New York State City/County Management Association.

“After successfully fulfilling the role of manager over the last year and serving our community effectively—and that’s an understatement—the board is confident that Ms. Marshall is the best person for the job,” said Mayor Justin Arest. “She has been a vital part of our community for the past three years… Her experience, combined with her natural ability to listen and address concerns efficiently and effectively, has earned her deep respect among our department heads and village staff.”

“Alex is highly regarded by the Village Board,” added the Mayor, “which recognizes her dedication to our village and the positive impact she has had on our community. Her problem-solving skills, professionalism and approachable nature have made her an invaluable asset to Scarsdale. We are confident that under Ms. Marshall’s leadership our village will continue to thrive.” The Village will begin its search for a new Deputy Village Manager next week.

Scarsdale Honors Those Lost, Impacted on 9/11

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Scarsdale First Responders and Officials gathered at the Public Safety Building to remember those lost and impacted in the tragic events on that day in 2001. Mayor Justin Arest said, “We honor the lives lost and the extraordinary bravery shown by so many on that day. It is a time to reflect on the resilience, unity, and compassion that emerged from such profound tragedy. We remember the first responders, the everyday heroes, and the families who endured unimaginable loss, and we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a community that stands together in the face of adversity. May this day serve as a reminder of our shared humanity and the enduring strength we find in each other.” The Mayor also represented the Village at the 9/11 Memorial and ceremony at Kensico Dam Plaza with State, County and local representatives.
