Spooktacular Howl-O-Ween Parade for Pups and Their Humans Get ready for a howling good time at our Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade on Sunday, October 27 at noon at Chase Park! Dress up your furry friends in their spookiest, funniest, or most creative costumes and march them through a festive route filled with treats, tricks, and tail-wagging fun. Whether your pup is a dashing Dracula or a playful pumpkin, this is the perfect chance to show off their Halloween spirit. There will be prizes for the best costumes, a photo booth to capture the fun, and plenty of treats for both pets and their humans. Don’t miss out on this bone-chillingly delightful event. Bring your family, your friends, and your four-legged companions for a fang-tastic celebration. All participants must be residents of Scarsdale, have an active dog license, and submit proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination. You can pre-register here. No Farmers Market This Week & Weekend Road Closures Please note that this Sunday, October 6, areas of the Village Center will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the annual Scarsdale Concours D’Elegance. The closures include: - Chase Road between Christie Place and Popham
- Right turn lane on Popham Road at Chase Road
- Spencer Place, Boniface Circle, and Harwood Court
Additionally, there will be no Farmers Market on October 6. The market will resume next Sunday, October 13.

New Curbside Textile Recycling Program Starts Oct. 5 Westchester County has partnered with Helpsy to offer free curbside textile pickup to residents in the Village of Scarsdale. This program provides a convenient way for residents to keep textiles out of the waste stream. Residents can sign up online for curbside textile collections, which will take place weekly on Saturdays between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Helpsy accepts clothing, accessories, shoes, linens, blankets, curtains, and more. Apple Cidering Family Fun at Weinberg Nature Center On Saturday, October 19, Weinberg Nature Center will host apple cidering, using a cider press, while enjoying family fun and music, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. While seating is provided on the open green, participants should bring a picnic blanket. The fee is $16 for Scarsdale residents, $18 for Mamaroneck Strip and $20 for non-residents, or $45 for Scarsdale families, $52 for Mamaroneck Strip families and $54 for non-resident families. Registration is limited and can be done here or by calling the Scarsdale Recreation Department at 914-722-1160 during normal business hours. The rain date is Saturday, October 26. Adult Basketball Open Gym Returns to SMS Courts Scarsdale open gym for basketball is back. Time to show your new moves on the court on Thursdays, October 10, 17, 24 and 31 and November 7, 14 and 21 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Scarsdale Middle School gym. Scarsdale residents 18-and-over only. The fee at the door is $5.
