BUDGET

First Pass Budget Now Available to View 

The Village Board of Trustees is advancing the Fiscal Year 2026 budget process through departmental overviews and work sessions. The first pass budget, which provides a preliminary overview of anticipated revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year, is available to view online here. The next work session will take place on Tuesday, January 28 at 4:30 p.m. and will include reviews of budgets for Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SEFCS) and the Scarsdale Business Alliance (SBA), as well as a discussion on the next steps for moving the Pool Complex project into schematic design.  The full calendar for the Fiscal Year 2026 budget is available here. An archive of previous budgets is available here.

Taxes Due!

Reminder: School Taxes are Due on January 31

The Village of Scarsdale would like to remind residents that tax payments for the second installment of School taxes are due on January 31. Residents can pay their taxes online here. Andrew Sereysky

Scarsdale Foundation Announces 2025 Scarsdale Bowl Winner

Greenacres resident Andrew Sereysky has been named the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Scarsdale Bowl, awarded annually since 1943 to individuals who have “given unselfishly of time, energy, and effort to the civic welfare of the community.”

Since moving to Scarsdale in 1994, Sereysky’s extensive volunteer work has spanned a wide range of organizations, reflecting many aspects of village life. Notable among these are the Greenacres Neighborhood Association, the Cable Television Commission, and the Advisory Council on Communications. He has also contributed his time and expertise to the CNC Procedure Committee, SNAP, the Citizens Nominating Committee, the Scarsdale Forum, the Procedure Committee, the School Board Nominating Committee as Administration Chairman, the Scarsdale Bowl Committee, STEP, and the Board of the Scarsdale Foundation. Sereysky has also dedicated many years to coaching youth sports teams in the community.

The Scarsdale Foundation also announced the recipient of the Spotlight Award, introduced in 2023 to honor exceptional contributions in a specific area. This year’s award goes to Scarsdale Adult School, celebrated for its 87-year tradition of fostering community through lifelong learning.

Both honorees will be celebrated at the Bowl Dinner on Thursday, April 24.

Volunteers Needed: Invasive Vine Cutting at Red Maple Swamp

Friends of the Scarsdale Parks will be cutting invasive vines this Sunday, January 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Red Maple Swamp (corner of Valley and Gorham Roads in Scarsdale). Attendees will learn how to identify and safely remove destructive vines to protect the health of trees before the growing season begins. Tools and gloves will be available to borrow if needed. Adult Basketball Winter Open Gym at SMS


Winter Open Gym is back for Scarsdale residents, offering adult basketball sessions at Scarsdale Middle School on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sessions are scheduled for February 6 and 13, as well as March 6, 13, and 20.

14-in-1 Robot

Winter Recess Programs for Kids: Robotics & Hydropower Adventures!


The Scarsdale Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation, in conjunction with Minds in Motion, is offering two exciting programs for children ages 6-12 during the winter recess, Tuesday through Friday, February 18-21, at the Girl Scout House. The 14-in-1 Robot Adventure will run from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $220, while Hydropower Explorers will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for $220. A full-day option, including both programs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with supervised lunch, is available for $350. Registration is open at Scarsdale.gov/recreation and ends on February 14.

Spring K-8 Lacrosse Registration is Now Open

The Scarsdale Youth Lacrosse Association (SYLA) will offer its spring 2025 program for boys and girls in grades K-8, featuring clinics and games led by professional coaches. The season begins indoors in March and April and moves outdoors in May and June. No prior experience is needed to join. More information is available here. Boards, Councils and Committees Seeking Civic-Minded Residents

The Personnel Committee of the Village Board of Trustees asks residents who are interested in serving on Village Boards, Councils and Committees to submit their names for consideration. The Village seeks candidates who represent a broad range of experiences and backgrounds. Applications may be submitted on or before February 14, either online or by mailing or hand-delivering a printed application addressed to Deputy Mayor Dara Gruenberg at Village Hall, 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale NY 10583. Scarsdale residents may also recommend individuals to be considered for appointment. To apply, make a recommendation or ask questions, email Personnel Committee members Deputy Mayor Dara Gruenberg, Trustee Jeremy Gans, or Trustee Sameer Ahuja. Village Clerk Taylor Emanuel is also available to assist by phone at 914-722-1175, or at temanuel@scarsdale.gov.
