Special Election for Westchester County Executive
On February 11, there will be a Special Election for the unexpired term of Westchester County Executive, with early voting being held through Sunday, February 9. Among the local early voting locations are the Eastchester Public Library (11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester), Mamaroneck Town Center (740 W Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck) and Greenburgh Town Hall (177 Hillside Avenue, White Plains). Sanitation Schedule Adjustments for the Week of February 10
Due to the Lincoln’s Birthday holiday on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the Village of Scarsdale’s sanitation schedule will be adjusted next week. Residents should take note of the following changes: - Route A: Paper & Cardboard (P) will be collected on Thursday, February 13. Trash/Bulky Trash (T/B) will be collected Friday, February 14. There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) pickup this week.
- Route B: Paper & Cardboard (P) will be collected on Thursday, February 13. There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) or Trash/Bulky Trash (T/B) pickup on Friday this week.
- Route C: Paper & Cardboard (P) will be collected on Thursday, February 13. Trash/Bulky Trash (T/B) and Plastic, Glass, Cartons, Aluminum/Tin (R) will be picked up on Friday, February 14. There will be no curbside yard waste pickup (Y) this week.
- Route D: Paper & Cardboard (P) will be collected on Thursday, February 13. There will be no Trash/Bulky Trash (T/B), Plastic, Glass, Cartons, Aluminum/Tin (R), or curbside yard waste (Y) pickup on Friday this week.

Second Pass Budget Review Scheduled for February 11
The next step in the Village’s budget process will take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with a Second Pass budget review. The work session provides an opportunity for further discussion on funding priorities and any necessary adjustments as the Village works toward finalizing the budget. Members of the public wishing to attend the meeting remotely can do so via online link at https://zoom.us/j/93183703358, or call into the meeting using 1-929-436-2866 and entering the Meeting ID 931 8370 3358. The Second Pass budget will be available to view online through ClearGov for transparency and public access. Scarsdale Chinese Association Hosts Annual Lunar New Year Celebration
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the Scarsdale Chinese Association held its annual Lunar New Year celebration at the Scarsdale Congregational Church. The event featured festive red lanterns and traditional decorations, along with performances including a dragon dance, music, and both traditional and modern dances. To accommodate attendees, the event was held in two sessions, welcoming approximately 400 guests in total. The celebration was supported by local businesses and the community’s Chinese school, with volunteers playing a key role in organizing the event. Families and neighbors gathered to enjoy food, games, and a holiday boutique, while Deputy Mayor Gruenberg attended to extend New Year wishes for joy, renewal, and prosperity to all who celebrate.

Early Bird Registration Open for 55th Annual 15k & 4M Races
The 55th Annual Scarsdale 15K & 4-Mile Races, organized by the Scarsdale Recreation Department, will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Participants can register for the 4-Mile Race, starting at 9:15 a.m., or the 15K (9.3-Mile) Race, starting at 9:30 a.m. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join! For those who cannot attend in person, virtual 15K and 4-Mile races are also available. Register by February 28 to take advantage of the early bird rate. Scarsdale School Kindergarten Registration Now Open
Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! Children whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2025, may be registered for the 2025-26 school year. Scarsdale Little League Spring In-House Baseball Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for the Scarsdale Little League Spring In-House Baseball Season, running from April 5 to June 15. The program is open to children in Pre-K through 6th grade. Registration will be open until March 4. Early registration is encouraged, as late registrations will not be guaranteed friend requests or coach placements. Volunteers Needed: Invasive Vine Removal at the Scarsdale Women's Club
Join volunteers this Sunday, February 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Scarsdale Women’s Club (37 Drake Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583) to help remove invasive vines that threaten local trees. Attendees will learn how to identify and safely remove these destructive plants before the growing season begins. Please wear gloves, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe footwear, and bring eye protection and loppers or pruning shears if you have them. Tools and gloves will be available to borrow if needed. Annual Village Election Scheduled for March 18
The annual local Village of Scarsdale Election for Mayor and three members of the Board of Trustees, each to a two-year term, will be held Tuesday, March 18, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Public Library. Friday March 7 is the last day to register to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections.
