Sanitation Schedule Adjustments for the Week of February 17 

All Village of Scarsdale Offices, with the exception of first responders, will be CLOSED Monday, February 17, in observance of President's Day. Residents should take note of the following changes to the sanitation schedule:

  • Route A:  There will be no pickup on Monday, February 17. Food Scraps (F) will be picked up on Tuesday, February 18. There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) or plastic, glass, cartons, aluminum/tin recycling (R) pickup this week.  
  • Route B: There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) pickup this week. 
  • Route C:  There will be no pickup on Monday, February 17. Food Scraps (F) will be picked up on Tuesday, February 18. There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) pickup this week. 
  • Route D: There will be no curbside yard waste (Y) pickup this week.

Budget

Trustees to Review 3rd Pass of Village Budget February 25

The Village Board of Trustees reviewed the second-pass budget at a work session on Tuesday, February 11. Village Treasurer Ann Scaglione presented the second-pass budget, as well as four budget scenarios that explored different uses of the unassigned fund balance, along with projections for sales tax revenue, interest earnings, and snow removal costs. These scenarios provided the Board with a clearer understanding of how various financial factors could impact the overall budget and help guide future decisions. Additionally, the Trustees voted to hold a public hearing during their February 25 business meeting at 8 p.m. on a Local Law Authorizing a Real Property Tax Levy in Excess of the New York State Tax Cap. A work session on recreation capital will be held on Monday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The final budget study work session will take place on Tuesday, February 25, at 6 p.m. Members of the public can attend remotely via Zoom or by calling 1-929-436-2866 and entering Meeting ID: 931 8370 3358.

Day Camp Parents’ Information Night February 27

The Recreation Department will host the 2025 Camp Programs Parents’ Information Night on Thursday, February 27, at 7 p.m. in Village Hall, 1001 Post Road. Parents are invited to learn about the upcoming camp season, ask questions, and meet the Day Camp Executive Director and Camp Directors.

Camps include:

  • Camp Sagamore: Incoming kindergarteners
  • Camp Lenape: Incoming 1st-graders
  • Camp Wapetuck: Incoming 2nd-graders
  • Camp Patthunke: Incoming 3rd- to 8th-graders
  • Teen Travel Camp: Incoming 6th- to 8th-graders
  • Sports & Soccer Camps

The Day Camp Parent Guide, with details on registration, dates, locations, and fees, will be available at the event or online at Camp Central.

Ida Program

Program for Hurricane Ida Expenses Extended

The deadline for New York State's Ida Homeowner Repair and Reimbursement Program (IHRR) has been extended to March 15. This program provides reimbursement to eligible homeowners of 1- to 4-family primary residences (condos and co-ops are not eligible) for repairs and resiliency improvements related to damage from Hurricane Ida that were not covered by insurance. To qualify, applicants must have a household income at or below 80% of the county’s Area Median Income—view the income limits here—or be part of a vulnerable population. Early Bird Registration Open for 55th Annual 15K & 4M Races

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation’s 55th Annual 15K & 4M Races will be held Sunday, April 6. Early bird registration is now open. For information or to register online, visit the official RunSignUp page.

Annual Village Election Scheduled for March 18

The annual local Village of Scarsdale Election for Mayor and three members of the Board of Trustees, each to a two-year term, will be held Tuesday, March 18, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Public Library. Friday March 7 is the last day to register to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections. February is Library Lovers’ Month, and the Scarsdale Public Library is celebrating by inviting patrons to share what they love about the library for a chance to win book-themed prizes in a special raffle. Community members can express what makes the library meaningful to them, whether it's the books, programs, welcoming atmosphere, or friendly staff.
