Annual Village Election to be Held on March 18The annual local Village of Scarsdale Election for Mayor and three members of the Board of Trustees, each to a two-year term, will be held Tuesday, March 18, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Public Library. Friday March 7 is the last day to register to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections. All information and links can be found on the Village’s Local Election page, including absentee and early mail ballots. Registration Open for Spring Cheerleading Clinic The Scarsdale Recreation Department is hosting a spring cheerleading clinic for grades K-8, welcoming all skill levels. Participants will learn and practice cheer fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment. The clinic runs on six Tuesday or Thursday evenings in April and May, depending on the program. Led by local award-winning instructors, the clinic is overseen by Chrissy Stanionis, a veteran coach with over 22 years of experience and a certified cheer judge. Register at scarsdale.gov/catalog. Girls’ Youth Softball Sign-up Deadline is March 21Get your bats, cleats, and gloves ready! The Scarsdale Recreation Department and Neighborhood Athletic Association are co-sponsoring youth softball for girls in grades K-6. Register by Friday, March 21 at scarsdale.gov/catalog. The fee is $155. Volunteer coaches are needed—indicate your interest by selecting "Yes" when prompted during registration. Practices begin Tuesday, April 1 (weather permitting), with games running from April 26 to June 4. For questions, contact your NAA Softball Area Chair.

Spring Break Chess Camp – Register Now!The Scarsdale Recreation Department is offering a fun and challenging Spring Break Chess Camp for ages 6-12, running Monday to Friday, April 14-18, at the Girl Scout House. Led by Chess Wizards, teaching the game since 2002, the camp features engaging lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes. Each participant receives a t-shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder, with all materials provided. The camp offers a half-day option from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for $275, or a full-day option from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $395. Space is limited to 10 participants. Volunteers Needed: Invasive Vine Removal at Sage Terrace & Brite AvenueJoin volunteers this Sunday, March 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Sage Terrace & Brite Avenue to help remove invasive vines that threaten local trees. Attendees will learn how to identify and safely remove these destructive plants before the growing season begins. Please wear gloves, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe footwear, and bring eye protection and loppers or pruning shears if you have them. Tools and gloves will be available to borrow if needed. Love Your Library Winner Announced & a Special Visit from Sushi!The Scarsdale Public Library is delighted to announce Susan Douglass as the winner of this year’s Love Your Library promotion. A devoted patron, local author, and engaged community member, Susan embodies the spirit of library support. The Library board and staff are grateful to everyone who shared their experiences, especially the heartfelt stories about the friendly, dedicated staff that reinforce the library’s role as a welcoming hub for learning and connection. This month also featured a special visit from Detective Justin Wilder of the Scarsdale Police Department and Sushi, SPD's mental health support and wellness dog, who charmed staff and patrons alike. ICYMI: Spring/Summer Recreation Program Registration OpenThe Village of Scarsdale Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department’s Spring/Summer program registration is now open! Residents can sign up online at scarsdale.gov/catalog. A variety of programs are available, including adult and youth athletics, aquatic programs, summer camps, racquet sports, senior activities, and events at the Weinberg Nature Center. The annual road races are also open for registration. Non-resident pool membership registration begins Friday, March 21, at 9:30 a.m. Information on Scarsdale Summer Camps is available here.
