Memorial Gathering in Chase Park

Community Gathers to Honor Fallen Heroes at Annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade

On Monday, May 26, the Village of Scarsdale and American Legion Post 52 hosted the annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade in the Village Center. The event began with a solemn ceremony in Chase Park at 10:00 a.m., where residents, veterans, first responders, local officials, and community groups gathered to pay tribute to the over one million service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation. The parade followed, winding through the Village Center with veterans, first responders, local officials, Scouts, and community groups marching in tribute. Thank you to all who attended and participated in this meaningful tradition that honors our nation's heroes and brings the community together in remembrance.

Pango

Spotted a Ticket After Paying with Pango? Here’s What to Do

While rare, some residents have reported receiving a parking ticket after successfully paying through the Pango app. To help address this issue, the Village has introduced a quick dispute process. Starting May 23, if you received a ticket after paying via Pango, you can submit proof of payment and a copy of the ticket to the Village Manager’s Office. If your payment is verified, the matter may be referred to the Justice Court for potential resolution—often without the need to appear in person. Access the quick dispute form at scarsdale.gov/pango. For questions or feedback, contact Deputy Village Manager Stephen Shallo at sshallo@scarsdale.gov. Additional parking information is available at scarsdale.gov/parking.

Red Maple Swamp Volunteers

Volunteers and Village Team Up to Restore Red Maple Swamp Park

This spring, the Village of Scarsdale partnered with Friends of the Scarsdale Parks, Scarsdale High School’s Senior Options students, and the Rotary Interact Club to begin restoring Red Maple Swamp Park. With guidance from Parks, Recreation, and Public Works staff, students planted 60 native shrubs and two trees, cleared invasive species, and installed biodegradable weed control to support long-term ecosystem health. The hands-on project offered students a chance to learn about native and invasive plants, swamp ecology, safe outdoor practices, and teamwork—while making a visible impact on local green space.
