Share Your Input: Scarsdale Youth Sports Community Survey Now OpenThe Scarsdale Recreation Department is inviting community members to participate in a short survey to help shape the future of youth sports in the Village. It has been nearly 20 years since the last comprehensive review, and the Department is seeking updated input to ensure programs continue to meet the needs of today’s families. The 5–10 minute survey will assist in evaluating league structures, coaching models, and the overall balance between developmental and competitive play across different ages and sports. Residents are encouraged to share their perspectives by taking the online survey, available here: Scarsdale Youth Sports Community Survey. Feedback will help guide future program planning and improvements.

Scarsdale Issues FAQ Following Public Safety Work SessionIn response to community questions and interest surrounding the Village’s use of public safety technologies, the Village has compiled a Public Safety Technology FAQ. The document aims to clarify key aspects of the draft policies under review, explain how tools like drones, license plate readers (LPRs), and live-view security cameras are currently used in Scarsdale, and outline potential changes being considered. The FAQ reflects common themes from public comments and Board discussion and is part of the Village’s ongoing effort to provide accessible, transparent information as the policy review process moves forward. The FAQ is available here. To review the draft policies and background materials, click here. To watch a video of the work session, click here. To learn more about public safety technology efforts in Scarsdale, view the public safety technology update here and a message from Chief DelBene here.

Board Recognizes National Gun Violence Awareness Day and “Wear Orange” CampaignMayor Justin Arest proclaimed Friday, June 6, 2025, as National Gun Violence Awareness Day in the Village of Scarsdale. Now in its 11th year, the “Wear Orange” campaign honors those lost to gun violence and encourages efforts to improve public safety. Scarsdale joined communities across the country in recognizing the day and wearing orange to raise awareness. The movement began in memory of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old honor student tragically killed in 2013. At the June 10 Board of Trustees meeting, members of Moms Demand Action spoke about the campaign’s impact and the importance of continued community engagement. Trustees wore orange ribbons to show their support for the national observance.
