Work Session Recap Tree Contract Licensing and Parking ReviewThe Village Board of Trustees held a Work Session on Tuesday, June 17, to discuss a proposed local law to license tree contractors and to review parking meter and permit systems, operations, and regulations. Trustees reviewed a draft of a local law that would require businesses performing tree cutting, pruning, or removal in the Village to be licensed. The goal is to strengthen enforcement of existing regulations and help ensure such work is performed safely and legally. The proposal remains under discussion and would require further revision, a public hearing, and formal Board action before any adoption. Deputy Village Manager Stephen Shallo provided an overview of current parking operations and presented recommendations to improve parking technology and management, including potential changes to time limits, permit structures, regulations, pay stations, and signage.

village spotlight Board and Council Volunteers Celebrated for Service to ScarsdaleOn Tuesday, June 3, the Village of Scarsdale held its annual reception honoring the dedicated volunteers who serve on its Boards, Councils, and Committees. Mayor Justin Arest remarked that “this year’s reception may have been the best yet, not just because of the energy at the event or the beautiful weather, but because we truly celebrated the full spectrum of what makes Scarsdale work.” He noted that by bringing together committed volunteers and exceptional Village staff, from public safety to public works, from leadership to frontline services, the event honored “the people who keep our community moving forward every day.” Mayor Arest added that Scarsdale’s Boards and Councils “embody the spirit of our non sibi tradition, and it is this shared commitment, with residents stepping up and staff leading and working alongside them, that truly makes Scarsdale special.” Click here to read more and view pictures from the event.
