Back to school

Reminder: Stop for School Buses, Protect Our Students

A reminder to residents: when a school bus has its flashing lights on and the STOP arm extended, it is both dangerous and illegal to pass. Drivers must remain stopped until the bus driver retracts the STOP arm and deactivates the lights, and must continue to follow all other traffic laws. With the school year now underway, please be especially mindful of school buses, children walking or biking, and parents making drop-offs and pick-ups. Slow down in school zones, obey posted speed limits, and expect heavier traffic during arrival and dismissal times. Allow extra travel time, exercise patience, and—most importantly—stay alert and distraction-free. Every safe choice behind the wheel helps protect the children and families of our community.
