YOUTH WRESTLING CLINIC
We’re excited to announce a brand new Scarsdale Recreation Department program launching Monday Dec. 22nd—our Youth Wrestling Clinic led by Scarsdale High School JV Head Coach Lamont Wallace and members of the SHS wrestling team!
Whether your child is looking to try something new, build strength and confidence, or cross-train for another sport, this program offers a fun, supportive introduction to one of the world’s oldest and most impactful athletic disciplines.
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Wrestling
Mondays, 5:30–6:30 PM
December 22 – March 2 (No class: 12/29, 1/19, 2/16)
Fee: $160
Perfect for our youngest athletes, this high-energy program focuses on:
- Body awareness, balance, and coordination
- Tumbling and wrestling-specific movements
- Building confidence through fun and constant activity
Each session keeps kids moving while developing foundational skills that support future wrestling success—and athletics in general.
3rd – 6th Grade Wrestling
Mondays, 6:30–8:00 PM
December 22 – March 2 (No class: 12/29, 1/19, 2/16)
Fee: $240
A great fit for beginners and developing athletes, this program introduces:
- Core wrestling techniques from neutral, top, and bottom positions
- Drilling, live wrestling, and proper form
- Strength, discipline, confidence, and mental toughness
This is also an excellent cross-conditioning opportunity for multi-sport athletes looking to improve agility, balance, and overall athletic performance.
