VILLAGE SPOTLIGHT First Pass Budget to be Presented at January 13 Work SessionThe Village Board of Trustees and Village Staff will continue discussing the next budget for Fiscal Year 2027 at a Work Session on Tuesday, January 13, at 5 p.m. in the third floor meeting room at Village Hall. This meeting will include a first pass budget presentation and a Parks, Recreation and Conservation departmental overview. You can attend the meeting in person or tune in via Zoom here. VILLAGE SPOTLIGHT Second Installment of School Taxes Due January 31The second installment of school tax bill payments are due January 31. You can pay your bill directly to the Village of Scarsdale online here. For a list of dates and guidelines for paying Village, School and Westchester County taxes, click here. VILLAGE SPOTLIGHT Volunteer Opportunities on Boards, Councils and CommitteesThe Personnel Committee of the Village Board of Trustees invites residents who are interested in serving on Village Boards, Councils, and Committees to submit their names for consideration. The Village seeks candidates who bring a broad range of experiences and perspectives. New terms will begin on April 6. Applications must be submitted on or before February 13. Applications may be submitted online or by mailing or hand-delivering a printed application addressed to Attn: Trustee Kofman, Village Hall, 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. Scarsdale residents may recommend individuals for consideration or seek additional information by contacting Trustee Kofman at jkofman@scarsdale.gov or Deputy Mayor Gruenberg at dgruenberg@scarsdale.gov. SCOUTING SPOTLIGHT Troop 4 Honors New Eagle Scouts at CeremonyMayor Justin Arest and Deputy Mayor Dara Gruenberg were honored to attend a ceremony celebrating the achievement of two new Scarsdale Troop 4 Eagle Scouts last month. Ibrahim Mansouri built a gaga pit at Camp Morty’s Merriwood Campsite to support their new Teen Empowerment program. The camp serves underprivileged youth in Westchester by providing free summer camp experiences to children in foster care, homeless shelters, and other government assistance programs. Kenneth Ren built an aviary at the Weinberg Nature Center to provide birds there with an improved outdoor living space and replace the existing small, deteriorating aviary. The Village congratulates Ibrahim and Kenneth on this milestone!

RECREATION SPOTLIGHT Chess Wizards Camp for Ages 6 to 12 During February BreakThe Scarsdale Recreation Department presents a fun way for children ages 6 to 12 to spend February vacation from February 17 to 20. In partnership with Chess Wizards, kids will be in for challenging chess lessons and exciting games, in addition to improving skills and making new friends. There are half-day (9 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for $250) and full-day (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $375) options. The camp will be held at the Girl Scout House. Chess Wizards provides all materials necessary. Participants should bring a healthy snack and plenty to drink. Space is limited and registration closes by February 13.
