Scarsdale Official: TEST Edition
Arbor Day Foundation Names Scarsdale Tree City USA 2025
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. "Tree City USA communities see the impact an urban forest has in a community first hand," said Dan Lambe, President of the Arbor Day Foundation. "Additionally, recognition brings residents together and creates a sense of community pride, whether it's through volunteer engagement or public education." Trees provide multiple benefits to a community when properly planted and maintained. They help to improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.
Pool Redevelopment Project Takes Major Step Forward
At the March 10, 2026 Meeting the Village Board of Trustees passed five important agenda items relating to the new indoor/outdoor pool facility construction and rehabilitation. The first was accepting the negative State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) determination that states will be no negative environmental impacts due to the project and that an Environmental Impact Study is not required to move forward. The other four items were for bonds totaling $74 million for pool-related costs. Click here for more information on the bond resolutions.
