Scarsdale Farmers Market Opening for Season on May 4The Scarsdale Farmers Market returns to the Village Center on Sunday, May 4, at 11 a.m., kicking off this season’s Destination Scarsdale initiative with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins. Held on Chase Road and a portion of Spencer Place, the market will operate every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November 23, in partnership with Down to Earth Markets. Free Compost Giveaway April 26In honor of Earth Week, Scarsdale is giving away FREE high-quality compost to residents on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Recycling Center (110 Secor Road). The compost is made from food scraps collected through the Village’s Food Scrap Recycling Program, which has diverted over 3.5 million pounds of waste since 2017. Bring your own container—first come, first served! Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help new participants get started. Drive-Thru Prescription Drug Disposal Day April 26Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service’s Scarsdale Action for Youth (SAY) and the Scarsdale Police Department are partnering to host a Drive-Thru Prescription Drug Disposal Day on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Scarsdale Public Safety Building (enter via Post Road). Residents are encouraged to safely dispose of unwanted or expired medications—no need to leave your vehicle. Accepted items include: Prescription medications, prescription patches, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples, and pet medications. Items not accepted: Needles, inhalers, lotions, liquids, ointments, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans, and thermometers. For more information, visit www.SAYscarsdale.org.

Animals from Around the World Petting Zoo – May 10 at Weinberg Nature CenterThe Weinberg Nature Center will host an Animals from Around the World petting zoo on Saturday, May 10, from 2 to 3 p.m. Children can pet sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, and even meet a kangaroo, tortoise, and more, while learning about the animals from knowledgeable naturalists. Easels will also be available for those who want to try drawing the animals. Recommended for ages 2.5 and up. The cost is $20 individual/$45 family (resident), $23 individual/$52 family (Mamaroneck Strip), and $24 individual/$54 family (non-resident). Teen Travel Camp Filling Fast—Waitlist Open for Session 1The Scarsdale Recreation Department’s Teen Travel Camp is currently waitlisted for Session 1. If there is sufficient interest, a second bus may be added to accommodate additional campers. Open to students entering grades 6–8 this fall, the camp features exciting trips to water parks, amusement parks, adventure courses, and more.
